Northern Trip: Part II
Published by Katie September 1st, 2007 in AlbaniaThe ferry … we’d all heard about it, and after some hesitation, we went for it. Two hours on the large ferry, which can carry cars, busses and lots of people. It was a beautiful day - rather hot - and by the end of the two hour ride we were excited to continue on the next leg of our journey. But here’s a look at what we saw along the way.
The ferry coming in from a town called Fierza. It goes back and forth between Fierza and Koman.

Cars lined up on the ferry. They were quite methodical and efficient about getting the cars on and off at both ends of the ride. We were impressed!

Above: A look around the loading dock at Koman.

Ryan consulting our guide book, bound and determined to get us from point A to point B.
Lake Koman is actually manmade, formed by flooding the valley that is now full of blue/green water.

Houses scattered along the shoreline. Most are only accessible by boat. Very remote!

I really liked this little island that housed just two small trees.
Entertainment aboard the ferry:

And the group pressed onward …
