When you teach writing, it’s given that you end up practicing your own writing skills. Here’s another example I wrote to go along with a lesson I taught to one of my classes. The homework assignment was to fill in the blank for ‘As an adult, it is very important that I’m a talented … ‘ I made it clear that there are no wrong answers, nothing too grand or impossible.

          As an adult, it is very important that I’m a talented communicator. A talented communicator is a person who speaks and behaves with others in a friendly, intelligent way. A talented communicator adapts very quickly to any situation and gets along with everyone.

          I want to have good relationships with people, especially with my family, boyfriend, friends, and colleagues. With good communication skills, I know how to respect, connect and share experiences with other people.

          I want to be a successful writer and teacher, and some day I want to own my own business. I must be a talented communicator in order to handle situations and make decisions that go along with these professions. If I have good communication skills, I can achieve anything!

          I’m a happier, more satisfied person when I can successfully communicate with other people. No matter where I live or who I’m around, it is very important that I’m able to communicate and get along with people in all situations. Katie and Margaret communicating.
