My new place
Published by Katie October 16th, 2006 in AlbaniaIn just a few short weeks I’ll be living on my own! Hard to believe that the 7 months of host family life are about to end. It’s a big move - and a very exciting one. I’ve been placed with two amazing host families, but I’m ready to be on my own and looking forward to the freedom I’ll gain.
I’m really going to miss the action and support and interaction from the Kacelis, though. Through and through they’ve been 100% good to me. A steady lunch routine of going over there for lunch and visits, plus having them over to my new place will fill the voids.
Take a look!
The view to the east and to the west from my balcony.
The view of the road that leads up to my school - work will be just a 1 minute walk.
The fishtank! I’m looking into getting some fish. Not sure if they’d survive the winter, though. It gets pretty cold and I’m going to be working with space heaters.
My kitchen - dinner/lunch parties here I come! Plus, I have full intentions to share the CSB/SJU Wine&Cheese Party tradition with all citizens of Berat who are willing to participate. I don’t think it’s asking too much to ask the original WC crew to come for visit this spring? I’m talk to you … Zachary Johnson, Matthew Pahl, John Bruns, Adam Benjamin, Brian Hoffman, Katie Ploeger, and Jessie Rassmusson! Can’t you just see it already???
Mira (Ersa’s mom), Ersa, and me standing in the entrance to my bedroom. I will be renting from this great family that I’ve gotten to know - couldn’t have found a better living situation. Thank you Sali and Mira!
I will take more and do any apartment update post once I move in and get settled.
