Every Saturday morning … starting at 6 am, I’ve heard … you can head toward the Goritza neighborhood and over the Old Bridge to find “the treg,” which consists of a lot of people, a lot of things, a lot of traffic, a lot of smells, and a lot of deals …

It’s crowded, yes, but worth the trip every once in a while.  Huge trucks, men on donkey carts, and brand new Mercedes and BMW’s alike enjoy zipping along this narrow road as pedestrians and merchants navigate the tables and stands of food, second hand clothes, shoes, purses … I’ve only gone a few times, as my weekends have been busy, but it’s a site for any foreigners’ eyes and the variety and randomness can’t be beat.
